Wild landscapes. Dramatic light. Scotland and beyond.

I’ve been photographing the landscapes of Britain for more than a decade, with a particular obsession for the Highlands and wild coastlines of Scotland.

What started with a camera and a desire to photograph the places I was already travelling to quickly became much bigger. Photography changed the way I experienced the landscape. Trips became planned around the weather, tide and light, and the camere became my excuse to explore places I might otherwise never have seen.

I’m drawn to dramatic conditions rather than perfect ones - stormy skies, big waves, mist, winter light and those brief moments when everything comes together.

I have been fortunate enough to have my work recognised in competitions including both the UK and Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 6 years continuously, and photographs published by outlets including Country Life, Coast Magazine, The Daily Times an On Landscape, as well as doing work for the Lake District National Park and Motorola.

But awards and publications are ultimately secondary to why I photograph.

I love being outside.

I love searching maps for new places to find.

I love waiting for the light.

And I still get a ridiculous amount of satisfaction from coming home with one photograph that makes all the effort worthwhile.
