About - Where Water Meets Stone
There’s something about a cold January morning in Glencoe that makes the landscape feel completely untamed.
I found myself standing knee deep in this river with the air bitterly cold, the water rushing hard through the rocks and the peaks of Creise rising beyond. The winter light was soft and constantly changing, catching the fresh dusting of snow across the mountain while the stream carved its way through the rugged foreground.
I wanted to capture more than just the mountain itself — the movement of the water, the weathered rocks, the muted colours of winter and that unmistakable sense of being surrounded by wilderness. The long exposure turned the rushing water into an almost ethereal flow, contrasting beautifully with the solid, immovable presence of Creise beyond.
It was cold, wet and absolutely worth being there.
